Medical evacuation and repatriation benefits explained
TaiAn Plan B (TaiAn Patriot Exchange) and TaiAn Plan S (TaiAn Exchange Select) each pay up to $50,000 for emergency medical evacuation and up to $25,000 to return mortal remains home (or $5,000 for cremation or burial), which meets the US Department of State J-1 requirements. They also pay up to $15,000 for a family member to come to you in an emergency and up to $10,000 for political evacuation. These benefits are paid at 100% when the evacuation is arranged through IMG, the plan administrator.

How do I use these benefits?
Call the emergency number on your IMG ID card before an evacuation or repatriation is arranged. These benefits are paid when IMG coordinates them, and IMG's medical staff are available 24 hours a day. In a life-threatening emergency, go to the nearest emergency room first.
Do these benefits meet the J-1 requirements?
Yes. The J-1 rules require at least $50,000 for medical evacuation and $25,000 for repatriation of remains, and both plans meet them.
